Top 4 Guide to Self Compassion: Day 5

I’m so glad you found your way here. I’m even happier to be sharing this journey with you.

And now you're probably asking yourself, what journey?

This journey, well we can just call it life. Embracing it, Empowering ourselves to live it and finally Growing it to be what we envision.

Day 5: Someone got her groove back!

Tell me in the comments how your day 4 went! I’m so excited to be sharing my journey but want to cheer you on as well.

Journey Journal Entry 8.26

Well day 5 started with a bang! Literally! Let me explain. So my morning started with being rudely awoken by the police being down the street and flashing all their flashy flashers in our windows. And before you ask, no I have no idea what was going on, I even tried to find out. Anyway, as short lived as it was, you see now I’m awake and it’s like 3(ish)AM. Tossed and turned, mostly wondering WTF, because why did we need all that. Fast forward to 6AM and I’m awakened by my alarm, fantastic!

Moving on, I ordered coffee and mini donut holes from my coffee place (we’ll leave them out of it). Well you see, coffee was made wrong twice so my dasher called to tell me (super nice) and then we got the two coffees I ordered (me and hubs) his sandwich and NO little donut holes. UGH!

Fine, Everything is Fine, and Yes. Universe. I hear you loud and clear! No need for anger today. These were all small things. I need to remember to be kind, be kind. So this got me thinking. I’m always working on being kind to others in my journey but what about being kind to me? Do I do that? Better question. Am I good at it?

Being Kind is the name of the game today. This was semi new territory for me. I got the concept and knew of a few ideas. Did they work? Where did I hear about them and are they legit? With that said, I spent my time today researching meditative ways to practice self compassion. Let me tell you. I can’t wait to dive into each one together!

This starts a little break off, what I like to call, deeper dive. I could easily list all four techniques I researched, loved and will be trying. OR. I could take a day and fully immerse myself in each technique and share that with you. Pretty sure the choice is obvious! We’ll be fully immersing ourselves together.

So, get ready. Buckle up and let’s get started.

We will be taking the next four days to fully immerse ourselves in these self compassion meditation techniques. In no particular order, I’m going to continue to listen to my body and let it tell me which one it needs each day.

  1. Affectionate Breathing

  2. Soften, Soothe, Allow

  3. Affirmations

  4. Reflection with Introspection

Until tomorrow, have a wonderful and restful evening!

XOXO

Meg
